What to Wear...for Stepford Week

My hair isn't quite short enough for any of these, but I will be wearing ribbons and/or curling it.

Make up

The 50's style of making up your face involves a foundation cream, creating a pale, mask-like complexion which was topped off by patting on a flesh colored powder to set it. By the mid 50's the winged/cat eyeliner became a very important part of the decade's make-up looks. The various products on the market included pencil, liquid and gel eyeliner. Lip shapes in the 1950's, taper the fall from the peak to the outer corner for a droop that almost mimicked a pleasant, innocent smile. Sultry movie stars like Marilyn Monroe and Sylvia Lopez were over-drawing their top lip for a fuller look.

Then of course, after all that, you need something that  will remove it all at night....this 50's commercial guarantees that cold cream will get the job done.

I don't have a lot of floral prints or pastels, but I will be wearing dresses and aprons for the most part.
